Entering his
second year as the Kingman High School Head Coach, Richard brings
an outstanding coaching and playing background to the KHS bench.
In 2003 Coach Felton was named as the Arizona North Region Baseball
Coach of the Year as he led his team at Joseph City High School
to a State Championship. Coach Felton has also been the head coach
at Mohawk High School in Oregon, and an assistant coach at Junction
City and Marshfield high schools in Oregon.
Coach Felton played baseball and graduated
from Southwestern Oregon CC in 1997 and then from Oregon State
University in 1999, where he received his Bachelors of Arts degree
in Exercise Sport Science and Psychology. He then went on to Pacific
University to receive a Masters of Arts degree in Teaching. Currently
he is working toward his Principals Certification at Northern
Arizona University while teaching health and physical education
at KHS.
Coach Felton has been married
to his wife, Kimberly, for 18 years and has five sons: Ethan 17,
Elliot 16, Devin 4, Kaleb 3, and Jacob 2. Coach Felton is heavily
involved in his church, where he also serves as the Youth Pastor
to the teens at College Park Southern Baptist Church.
